I've been asked if I would provide some background to the nomadic Middlesbrough Bears junior speedway team that raced at Hull and Newcastle between 2002/5 before CVS and Gareth Rogers brought PL speedway racing back to Teesside. I've set up a page on Facebook and over the course of the next few months I will bid to enlighten folk of how we played a key role in helping bring speedway racing back to Teesside in April 2006. The Wilderness Road commences here: www.facebook.com/middlesbroughbearsjuniorspeedwayteamAnyone with an interest in junior speedway racing might find it fascinating - all opinions are my own as I was one of the key people involved.

Thanks to all of the people who have joined the page over the last 24 hours. Without what we did back then there would be no Redcar Speedway for you all to moan about on here!

We now have 168 members which is fantastic and greatly appreciated. The most popular post by far was the news that Jason Pipe has been offered the role as team manager at Buxton which has been read by 784 people so far.
