Good luck to "The Bears" this afternoon at Peterborough (who seem to be our bogey team at the moment). With Jason back and Coty having got his engines sorted for what looks like it will be his last meeting for us. I think we have a chance of bringing something back this afternoon. After all they were well beaten at home by Sheffield on Friday so they are not on top form. As Kevin said on Thursday a lot could be down to the Charles Wright situation. Dont know what is going on behind closed doors but the BSPA seem to make their own rules up when it come to us this season. How on earth on Monday they can give medical clearance for Charles to ride today (after his 9 days concussion ban) to then on Wednesday say he has to have a clearance before the meeting from a PETERBOROUGH medic rather than his own doctor who will know his medical history far better. As Jitendra says in the Gazette yesterday what is he going to check for apart from looking into his eyes. Which as a qualified optician Jitendra is much more qualified to do anyway. Who has been pulling strings behind the scenes? ?

And he just happens to have had a five ride maximum on his last visit there ,funny Glasgow were given the meeting points after our medical staff were treating Coty Garcia and the curfew was reached before ten heats now they give Peterboroughs medical staff who of course are totally impartial the right to withdraw possibly our strongest rider stinks of Vatcherism to me and the rich clubs win again

It Stinks!!!

Vatcher, Vatcher, Vatcher !! The name instantly rears up controversy, decision switching, and downright incompetence, that inevitably affects Redcar negatively. Redcar will never win any honours whilst Vatcher has his grubby mitts on Speedway. Sad isn't it ?

Wright is riding.
Obviously the impartial medical staff were impartial.

Think it may have been the embarrassment of the BSPA making an other rule up just for us. As it clearly states in the rules that you can get clearance from your own G P but we were told it had to be done by the meeting medic. Think we would have won that appeal had we had to go that way.

Lets get over it and move on.

Lets get over it and move on. I think we had moved on until this last week when he stated that Charles had to travel all the way to Peterborough to be checked pre meeting by their medic to decide if he could ride or not. When the rules quite clearly state that he could have been given clearance by his own doctor. Not fair to Charles who could have gone to all that expense and earned no money if the decision had gone against him. Plus it was not fair on the fans who did not know if he was riding until they arrived today. Another interpretation of the rules that was wrong and went against us. Apparently the atmosphere was decidedly cold in the pits yesterday when Mr Vatcher was at the Junior Championships I am informed. We have a new promoter who is obviously not in the "old boys club" yet and they keep throwing all this rubbish at him. If they sicken him off we may not have Speedway on Teesside next year.

Agree with Sidewinder.
It's possible to disagree with the decisions without posting about a supposed vendetta at every opportunity.

To be honest most if it is tongue in cheek and its a forum nobody gets to say what someone else's opinion should be or what they post as long as its not personal attacks on fellow members

Wright is riding. Obviously the impartial medical staff were impartial. Wright was examined and given medical clearance by a private doctor on Sunday morning, not by Peterborough medical staff at the track - this option was refused by Peterborough management and told he would be declared unfit.

So Peterborough said they wouldn't carry out the medical as they would pass him unfit to ride?
Well at least they informed someone that would be the case and independent advice was sought.
Doesn't reflect well on anybody if the medical teams are under pressure from the home promotion. Glasgow fans claimed this is what happened at Redcar with Coty earlier in the year.
Hard to know what to believe these days.

Two completely different scenarios one Coty was injured in that meeting and as far as I know our promoter was trackside trying and succeeding in repairing the air fence when the medics were tied up with Coty ,how can you put the home team in charge of whether a rider from the opposition can ride when the rules are already in place for a gp declaration of fitness after nine days
