Injury updates...
The S.G.Petch Bears head into tomorrow's battle at Sheffield with numerous injury issues and struggling to find adequate cover. Ben Barker has a fracture of the left wrist but insists he wants to ride and Jason Garrity appears to have no broken bones but is out with an arm/ shoulder injury. Tobias Busch struggled at the home meeting with the injuries received last week but will ride through the pain barrier again as will Jonas Andersen with his bruised thigh/ hip. The Bears intend to give it their best shot as they are only one point off a play off position with just the three fixtures remaining all away from home.

Meeting is due to be restaged on 18th September 7.45 start So let me digest this decision. The cut-off date for the play off positions is the 17th September. So if the fates played out that Redcar needed one point to claim the 4th play-off position, and they got that point, or 3 or 4 points, the points gained would be irrelevant, and they would not be awarded the league position they attained by winning or drawing a league meeting ? Can I believe this situation ? Only in speedway, and only if it is Redcar that suffers. Yep, I can believe it. Shocking, farcical, make your own words up on this.

Think it's happened either to us before or in our favour before but that's the rule ,Ipswich match rearranged for the 14 and they don't need the points they are in the playoffs

Edinburgh four point win it's done and dusted now they are five in front and we go to Glasgow and Newcastle not a chance but it's been a good season, poor home form cost us I personally think the two Peterborough matches cost us any real chance

There seems to be some confusion on the BSF as to whether the 17th or 18th is going to be the cut off date as it stands. However I understand that may move yet. Sheffield and Ipswich have already qualified for the play offs. Glasgow, Edinburgh and ourselves all look as of they will have meetings after the 17th Edinburgh still have (before cut off) Glasgow at home and Sheffield and Workington away. With Peterborough away TBA so that will probably be after 17th. This looks like a difficult run in with their only home meeting being Glasgow. Glasgow still have (before the cut off) Ipswich, Redcar & Peterborough at home & Edinburgh away. They have an away meeting at Workington on 23rd and Workington at home TBA which both look like they will be after the cut off as it stands. We have (before the cut off if its the 17th) Glasgow and Newcastle away, plus Sheffield away on 18th. Does not look good especially with regards to meetings currently looking like they will miss the cut off. However this is Speedway & anything can happen.

Think cut of date is the 18th Think you are correct. Keith McGhie quotes that in today's Gazette. Which means we will get all of our outstanding matches in by then (barring any rain offs) and Glasgow and Edinburgh look like they will not unless the powers that be move the date. Knowing our luck if we get anywhere near qualifying Mr Vatcher will move the date.
