Glasgow v Bears 16/09/2017
Glasgow have been beaten at home tonight (13/07/2017) 41-52 by Ipswich. So even though we are still 4 and 5 points adrift from Glasgow and Edinburgh. It is still possible to catch them. Especially as it looks like they will both not get all their meetings in hand in before the cut off date. Glasgow home and away to Workington not scheduled before Monday night and Edinburgh still have no date for their trip to Peterborough.
Edinburgh have Sheffield and Workington away & Glasgow have Peterborough at home before Monday. However the 2 meetings that may give us a chance are our match at Glasgow on Saturday & Edinburgh at home to Glasgow on Friday (don't know who I want to win that one to give us our best chance).
Here's hoping we can get some good points in our 3 away meetings. The Newcastle and Sheffield meetings on Sunday and Monday may still be very significant.

We are at Glasgow on the 16th, Newcastle on the 17th and Sheffield on the 18th. I believe the cut off date is the 18th

Would be sweet revenge to beat Glasgow on Saturday and even better if we could knock them out of the play offs. Hope Mr Mcgregor has not appointed himself referee for this one.

The S.G.Petch Bears have suffered a set back in their challenge to reach a play off position with the withdrawal of Danny Ayres from the weekend's fixtures through illness. Co-Promoter Jittendra Duffill said " whilst it is disappointing we won't have Danny for these critical matches we wish him well and have been fortunate to secure the services of Liam Carr for the match at Glasgow . Liam is a very capable replacement and we thank him for stepping in at such late notice. The Bears are still full of optimism and know it's a must win fixture if the club are to reach a top four spot." Rider replacement will be used for the still injured Jason Garrity with Nathan Greaves replacing the unavailable Tobias Busch. Ben Barker will once again ride through the pain barrier although he showed no signs of a handicap whilst winning the Erimus Insurance 'best celebration' award at the Ecco Finishing sponsored Teesside Silver Helmet meeting.

Ah well it was a good season while it lasted ,I really think we need to find a home track advantage even if it means tricking the track up like other clubs do it's to easy for clubs to come here and plunder points ,well done to the riders and the promotion best season in years

The home meetings we lost we had riders missing. Would much rather see fair racing and the best team win. The fact that most riders like the track makes it more satisfying when we take teams apart which we have done recently.

Which teams exactly have we taken apart our match grace plus minus total prices we don't take enough teams apart and to say we had riders missing every team has to put up with that the better teams beat us quite easily at our track

Your missing rider argument doesn't stand up Peterborough draw full 1-7 pet 2 guests . Pet defeat red 1 guest pet 2g and RR.
Glasgow that meeting red rr for Jonas and 1g we didn't have a race win in 9 heats apart from our guest in heat 2
Works 42v48 with a guest at reserve for me c wright came back from injury too early and it cost us the meeting .
Koc pet another defeat we had a guest at Res
Personally I think the defeats were down to riders starting meeting poorly Charles often runs a second in his first race and Jonas quite often poor in his first two for some reason ,as I say think teams that have beat us have coped better with guests than us

Yes with such a fair track we'll struggle to win the league over a season or play offs. Even if we are a top team another top 4 team would always give us a run for our money at home! Personally though I'd much rather see close exciting matches like we have the last 3-4 weeks rather than smashing teams week in week out. Handing out a thrashing once in a while is nice though 😉
