Any travelling fans to worky next weekend part of the A66 will be closed from the 7th between 10pm till 3am Monday morningThere is a turn off before Kirby Thore on the A66 for Bolton and Cliburn which will take you to Eamont Bridge on the A6 and to the penrith roundabout. Make sure you all set off early as tailbacks will be likelyIf the A66 is closed further down meaning no Bolton to Cliburn then on to the A6 it could be a detour of Brough to Kirkby Stephen on the A685 to Tebay then up the M6 to Penrith.

Just spoken to Workington Speedway and the rain has cleared with clear sky's and no more rain forecast. So should be ok for this evening. Set off early due to road works and detour.

Well done the Bears for a fighting performance tonight, and a thoroughly deserved away point. Taking the last few meetings into account, a good end to our season, 8 points gained. UTB !!

Redcar ' Ecco Finishing ' Bears league season is now officially over. The boys fought hard at Workington and frightened the life out of the Comets to come away with another league point to finish the campaign on a high. Whilst it wasn't the season we had hoped for we saw great racing and plenty of effort from all the riders who wore the Bears race jacket this season, so I thank each one of you for your commitment to the cause. Special mention for my team managers , and mates ,without whom the club couldn't function, Ben Duffill and Jade Mudgway . So take a bow .... Benjamin Barker, Niike Lunna, Dimitri Berge, Jonas Brøndum Andersen, Mikkel Brøndum Andersen, Thomas Jørgensen, Jordan Stewart, Theo Pijper, Tobias Busch, Matěj Kůs and Nathan Greaves. We have one last home meeting , the Teesside Silver Helmet, on the 20th , to see most of the lads in action again ( and maybe one or two surprises) with the end of season wake on the following night where we can have a bit of fun and I can let my hair down. ( you know what I mean ). The last programme of the season will have a special thank you feature for all the volunteers who have kept the show on the road so make sure you get a copy. Now to clean some race jackets....
