POOLE MEETING CANCELLED ✖️
We were informed today by Poole Speedway, that due to stadium issues, our fixture on Wednesday 11th August will now be cancelled.
Promoter Jitendra Duffill commented, "We can only apologise to any fans making the trip to support the Bears over these couple of days for this disappointing news. It is far from ideal for us as a club, however we have to sympathise with the cards Poole have been dealt. I know Poole are devastated by this news, which is just as frustrating for them as it is us."
Redcar will still take on Plymouth Gladiators tomorrow night (7pm).
For full details, please see the attached Poole press release.

🚨 CANCELLED | POOLE v REDCAR
Poole Speedway has been rocked by the news that this Wednesday night's scheduled home meeting against Redcar will not be able to be staged, due to circumstances beyond the club's control.
Today, (Monday 9th August) the club were informed by George Edwards of Gaming International, that a number of key employees responsible for the stadium activity are now self-isolating after being contacted by the NHS Track and Trace app, meaning that the speedway has to be postponed on Wednesday evening.
Poole Pirates boss Matt Ford explains, "We are absolutely devastated that with the school holidays upon us we are not permitted to allow entrance to the stadium without the landlord's permission and we can't believe how much we regret the situation that has presented itself to us. We have already lost thousands of pounds this season as an aspect of Covid-19 restrictions, and we now face problems beyond our control. We can only apologise to everyone who was looking forward to being part of the evening's entertainment and a full refund will be made to anyone who has pre-booked tickets, within the next three to five working days."
Poole will announce a revised date for the meeting in due course but the next action at Wimborne Road is now set for Wednesday 18th August when Scunthorpe are due in town.
